This route will show us one of the most unspoilt parts of the central Costa Brava, we will ride along leafy paths between the sea and the mountains.

We will leave the Palamós marina and, passing by the upper part of the town, we will enter the stretch of greenway that connects the town of Palamós with that of La Bisbal d’Empordà through the Tren Petit route. This curious railway was created thanks to the main industry of the area, the cork industry, but in practice, it was also used by residents of nearby towns as a means of transport between the sea and the mountains.

Halfway along the Tren Petit route, we will leave the main track and head towards the beautiful town of Calella de Palafrugell, famous for its habaneras. Passing Calella, we will enter a GR into the last pine forests that challenge the coastline, passing in front of the magnificent gardens of Cap Roig and its castle that well deserve a stop. Leaving the gardens behind, we will head towards Castell beach, where the more adventurous can take a short walk to the Iberian village of the castle. At this point, you will find yourself on one of the most virgin beaches left on the central Costa Brava, enjoy this privileged environment.

After the relaxing time, all that remains is to arrive with the Burricletes at the Marina de Palamós port.

Leaving on the right hand side of Punt Burricleta Port Marina, we take the bike path that will take us towards an absolute rural environment.

This route runs entirely through the interior of Baix Empordà. However, we will have views of a large part of the Costa Brava. We will pass with the Burricletes through fields of crops, vineyards, fruit trees and wooded areas, all with the goal in mind, the Fitor hermitage, located in one of the foothills of the Gavarres.

While pedaling leisurely through the Vall-llobrega plain and enjoying the rural world, the manor houses and the contemplative life, we will be able to reach high points from where we can observe pirate watchtowers and other hidden elements from the plain where we started the route. We will also have the opportunity to visit the Fitor hermitage, one of the highest points in the area, and learn about the legends of the region.

While undoing the path, returning with the coast in front, we will reach the Mont-ras viewpoint to observe the entire coast that embraces from Begur to Palamós, all a navy blue that fights to conquer land with the last remains of the buttresses that will die in the cliffs so characteristic of the area. A still wild and rural landscape, fills our view with the bluish tones of the Mediterranean.
